Important Notice: Implementation of CTOS Electronic Trade Reference (eTR) for Credit Reporting

Dear Valued Customer,

We wish to inform you that Telekom Malaysia (TM) is now collaborating with CTOS through its Electronic Trade Reference (eTR) system. This initiative aims to enhance the accuracy and transparency of credit-related data.

What is CTOS eTR?
The Electronic Trade Reference (eTR) is a system that captures a customer’s payment experience, as provided by suppliers or service providers. It typically reflects outstanding debt or payment patterns with organisations such as telcos, leasing firms, credit providers and utility companies.

Why does it matter?
As part of this collaboration, TM will be sharing relevant credit and payment information of Unifi customers with CTOS to support credit risk assessments and trade reference profiling. This initiative helps:

  • Encourage timely payments: Sharing data on unpaid debts supports better debt recovery and promotes accountability.

  • Improve credit decision-making: Businesses can make more informed decisions when extending credit, based on real payment history.

  • Promote good payment habits: Customers are incentivised to maintain prompt payments to avoid negative entries on their eTR record.
