What is unifi TV?

unifi TV (formerly known as HyppTV) is an IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service where TV content is delivered digitally through an internet network. In TM’s case, the content is delivered through a high speed broadband service right to your television set via a TM-provided unifi TV Box. It offers you On Demand services, Interactive applications and the ability to broadcast live TV channels. It is offered as part of our unifi consumer packages.

Is there any difference between the current unifi TV and the previous HyppTV?

unifi TV is previously known as HyppTV. Your package and viewing experience will continue without any interruptions.

What are the key offerings of unifi TV?

There are many new offerings that unifi TV brings to you:

• unifi TV provides you with a new TV experience where you can do more with your TV!

• Be in control of your TV – you only need to pay for the broadcast live TV channels and on-demand services that you want to watch.

Can I still watch unifi TV programs during bad weather?

Yes. You can still enjoy your unifi TV programs even during bad weather. This is because unifi TV is offered over high speed broadband so, it is unaffected by bad weather.

What is the difference between unifi TV and other satellite TV operators?

• unifi TV is different from other satellite TV operators in that it is delivered via a high speed broadband network to your TV. This gives you added benefits such as not being affected by bad weather. Being on a broadband platform also lets you experience our Interactive applications.

• unifi TV also differs in term of the pricing model where we take on an on-demand approach. This means you pay only for the live TV channels, movies or series you want to watch rather than paying for the entire package.

I have already subscribed to another Pay TV service, can I still subscribe to unifi TV?

Yes, you can still subscribe to unifi TV even if you have already subscribed to another Pay TV service. This is because unifi TV uses unifi's high speed broadband to deliver its content and so, it won't affect the other Pay TV service.

When I watch unifi TV, will it impact my other Pay TV service?

No. As long as you can connect both services to your TV, you can choose to watch either one.

Can I watch unifi TV and access the internet at the same time?

Yes, you can watch unifi TV and access the internet at the same time. unifi TV will not disrupt your internet experience.

Can I subscribe to unifi TV without subscribing to unifi?

No. You have to subscribe to unifi since unifi TV is offered as a triple-play offering under unifi that includes internet, video (of unifi TV), and Voice.

Can I choose to only have either live TV channels or Video On Demand on my unifi TV?

Yes. You can choose any of the value added services from our premium live TV channels and/or Video On Demand on top of the free basic offering.

What are the different types of content offered by unifi TV?


There are mainly 3 types of content offered by unifi TV. In brief, they are:

• Video On Demand: Subscriber is able to purchase movies, TV series or programs and exclusive content through our Video On Demand (VOD) service.

• Broadcast live TV channels:

a) Broadcast live TV channels includes both international and local live TV channels.

b) unifi TV Free Channels: These are bundled with and part of all unifi consumer packages.

c) unifi TV Premium Channels: All unifi consumer packages’ customers can purchase the following channels individually at a unique price per channel. All channels' latest offering listing can be found on https://unifi.com.my/tv/shows

• Streaming app (OTT): Subscribers can watch movies, TV series and more with our 11 streaming app partners. These apps are available bundled with unifi TV Packs or on ala carte.

 

What is On Demand?

• On Demand is a system which allows users to select and watch/listen to video or audio content on demand.

What is High Definition (HD) video?

• High Definition video refers to a video system with a resolution that is far superior and sharper than the current analogue TV or Standard Definition TV.

• unifi TV HD video features display resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080i).

• To fully enjoy the HD video content, you will require an HD-Ready TV set to start with.

What is the unifi TV Graphical User Interface (GUI)?

• unifi TV Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a type of user interface that allows you to interact with all the content within the unifi TV service. It offers graphical icons, symbols and visual indicators to provide instructions that fully represent the information available to a user via the remote control. This helps you navigate through the service and get to the content that you want. Please refer to the User Guide on how to use the GUI.

Can I personalize my profile information?

Yes, customers can personalize their profile information through My Profile.

How many languages do you offer?

Currently, we only offer English as the default language for the system.

Do I need to change the screen aspect on my own?

No, during installation, the installer will do it for you. Do keep in mind that, as of now, only 4:3 is available.

If I buy a new TV set, do I need to adjust the screen aspect?

No, it will follow the default screen aspect.

Will it affect the quality of the picture if I change the screen aspect?

No, changes on your screen aspect will not affect the quality of the picture.

How can I change the screen effects on my TV?

Just go to the Settings option from the main menu, follow some simple instructions, and confirm the changes by pressing the OK button.

Do I need to change the screen aspect every time I switch on this service?

No, once you change the screen aspect in the Settings, it will be saved until you make further changes.

Why are there different prices for different channels?

Different channels have different prices because each channel is unique in terms of its content offering, genre of programming, and overall quality i.e. SD vs HD.

How much is the VOD content?

Each category of Video On Demand content is priced differently.

• TV On Demand (TVOD) service which offers the latest movies, including Hollywood, Malaysian, and Asian ones.

• Free View: Free content such as Fokus Hari Ini and content from Knowledge Nature Package etc.

• Dunia Sinema HD: Dunia Sinema offers viewers access to 10 Malay movies every month. This comprises of a good mix of genres and library titles. Viewers can look forward to 10 titles for the first month, with five titles getting refreshed every subsequent month. RM10.00 per month.

•  BBC First HD: The only On Demand channel which houses premium and original TV dramas from BBC – old and new – for you to binge anytime, anywhere. RM15.00 per month.
 

Is there any commitment period for unifi TV?

The minimum contract period for the unifi TV service will be in accordance to your unifi contract. For monthly-based subscription content i.e. ala carte premium channels, the subscription will only be cancelled or terminated upon the customer’s request. Otherwise, it will automatically be renewed every month.

How do I purchase a premium channel?

•  Via unifi TV EPG – when you browse to an unsubscribed premium channel, you will be given an option to subscribe by pressing the "OK" button on your remote after 30-second preview. Enter your PIN to confirm the purchase. You will be able to watch the channel once subscription is successful.

•  Via TMpoint - Visit any nearby TMpoint outlets and mention your unifi TV user ID and the channel(s) you wish to subscribe to.

•  unifi Portal - Login to the unifi Self Care (https://unifi.com.my) and follow the instructions accordingly.

•  via unifi PlayTV app - Login to your unifi PlayTV account and simply subscribe to your preferred channel.  You also can watch the channel on your unifi TV Media box (STB) or the latest unifi Plus Box.

 

How do I purchase On Demand content?

Via unifi TV EPG – when you browse through an unsubscribed On Demand content, you will be given the option to subscribe to it by clicking the Confirm button. You will then be asked to enter your PIN to confirm the purchase. Once you have successfully subscribed, you will be able to enjoy the content as usual.

Via unifi PlayTV app - Login to your PlayTV account and simply subscribe the On Demand content by key in your Purchase PIN or redeem with VOD voucher code. You also can watch the On Demand content on your unifi TV Media box (STB) or latest unifi Plus Box.

How will I know which channels I have purchased?

You may refer to:
•  unifi website - Login to the unifi Self Care (https://unifi.com.my) and follow the instructions accordingly and proceed to the Live chat.
•  Download and install myunifi apps - Login to the myunifi apps and follow the instructions accordingly and proceed to the Live chat.

What if I were to terminate my unifi TV service only? Would there be any penalty/charges/proration?

Proration will be applicable for monthly-based subscription content  i.e  ala carte premium channels.

Penalty of remaining month charge will be imposed for any termination within contract commitment period.

How do you calculate the charges for subscribing to a premium channel?

This is not applicable for VOD since VOD is a one-time charge. The charges for premium channel subscriptions will be reflected in the bill as follows: prorate amount for the preceding period + monthly charges for the succeeding month (1 month + basis). For example, if A subscribed to  a premium ala carte channel  on 7th September, the charges reflected in the bill would be:

= Prorate amount September + October monthly charge

= [(24/30) x RM6) + RM6]

= RM4.80 + RM6

= RM10.80.
 

What is the unifi TV login password?

unifi TV login password is required to access the unifi TV service.

Where can I get my unifi TV login password?

The unifi TV login password is being setup and provided to you during the installation. If you require any support contact us via TM Live chat www.unifi.com.my/chat.

 

How do I change my unifi TV login password?

  • For unifi Plus Box and unifi PlayTV app users, to reset, download PlayTV app from App Store. Go to Profile, click Login and select Forgot Password to reset password.
  • For users with older unifi TV media boxes (white & grey colour), please reach out to us via the Live Chat platform on www.unifi.com.my/chat.

What is the Purchase PIN Number used for?

The Purchase PIN is a 6-digit PIN number used to purchase unifi TV content such as Video on Demand (VOD), Series Video on Demand (SVOD), Series on Demand (SOD), premium channels, and any other paid content.

Where can I get my Purchase PIN number?

The activation PIN is 123456. This is a temporary PIN number and it’s compulsory for customers to change their PIN number to proceed with the purchase.

How do I change my Purchase PIN number?

For unifi TV Media Box (STB) user, you can set your preferred Purchase PIN number yourself. Please proceed to My Profile option from the main menu and click on the Manage PIN under Profile Settings. From there, you are given an option to change your Purchase PIN number.

For unifi Plus Box user, you may update the PIN number in unifi PlayTV app by following the same steps as above.
 

How do I reset my Purchase PIN number?

For unifi TV Media Box (STB) user, you can reset your Purchase PIN number yourself. Proceed to My Profile option from the Main menu and click on the Manage PIN under Profile Settings. From there, you are given an option to reset/forgot your Purchase PIN number.

What is the Parental PIN Number used for?

The parental PIN is a 6-digit PIN number used to unlock or lock parental functions on channel(s) that has/have them activated.

Where can I get my Parental PIN number?

The default PIN is 123456. For security reasons, it is advised that you change it to another 6-digit number.

How do I change my Parental PIN number?

Your Parental PIN number is the same as your Purchase PIN number. For unifi TV Media Box (STB) user, you can set your preferred Parental PIN number yourself. Please proceed to My Profile option from the main menu and click on the Manage PIN under Profile Settings. 

For unifi Plus Box user, you may update the PIN number in unifi PlayTV app by following the same steps as above.

What if I forget my Purchase PIN number / Parental PIN number?

For unifi TV Media Box (STB) user, you can reset your Purchase PIN number yourself. Proceed to My Profile option from the Main menu and click on the Manage PIN under Profile Settings. From there, you are given an option to reset/forgot your Purchase PIN number. 

For unifi Plus Box user, you may update the PIN number in unifi PlayTV app by following the same steps as above.

Do I need to key in my IPTV login password every time I switch to the unifi TV service?

No, you don’t have to key in the password every time you switch on to the unifi TV service.

What is the technology being used by the unifi TV service?

unifi TV leverages the broadband network with multicast and unicast technologies to deliver video content to our users. We also provide video content via the internet, where you can enjoy our content through Android TV devices and  unifi PlayTV mobile app.

Can I watch unifi TV on my PC? How about if I use a TV tuner card on my PC?

No, the service is delivered to your TV for the best viewing experience. Even with a TV tuner card installed in your PC, you will not be able to watch the unifi TV content because the content is encrypted and the decrypted version is only available on the unifi TV unifi TV Media box or unifi PlayTV app.

Will the unifi TV service affect the quality of my normal TV channels?

No, the service will not affect the quality of your normal TV channels.

What if my unifi TV shows an error which is preventing me from viewing the content?

Please ensure the HDMI and Ethernet cable connections as well as the connection between the RG and unifi TV Media box are fixed and in place. For unifi Plus Box, beside the cable please ensure that the WiFi connectivity is good as well. For add-on content, please ensure that you have purchased the required content prior to viewing. My Set-Top Box (STB) has no signal, what can I do?

Please ensure the HDMI and Ethernet cable connections as well as the connection between the RG and unifi TV Media box are fixed and in place. For unifi Plus Box, beside the cable please ensure that the WiFi connectivity is good as well. Then, try to reboot your unifi TV Media Box or unifi Plus Box. If the problem persists, feel free to reach out to us via our digital platforms: Live Chat on www.unifi.com.my/chat or myunifi app and share the error message on your TV screen.

What if my remote control does not work properly – what should I do?

Please check:

a. That the remote control is pointed at the STB's / UPB's signal receiver.

b. That the battery power is sufficient.

c. That the batteries are placed towards the right connecting poles.

If your remote is faulty, you may purchase a new one at selected TMPoints.

For unifi Plus Box, alternatively you can use the virtual remote that can be downloaded to your smartphone as a mobile app. Search "Universal Remote Control" and choose any app available. Connect the app with unifi Plus Box and proceed accordingly.

If the video quality is not good, for example the words on the GUI are not clear, what can I do?

You can try to fine-tune the contrast/brightness setting of your TV. If the problem persists, please contact our TM Live chat or Contact Centre.

How can I prevent my children from watching any films or programs that are not suitable for them?

While we offer our subscribers a variety of TV channels and movies, some content may not be suitable for children. unifi TV provides Parental Lock feature that allows you to decide what your children can or cannot watch. This features can be activated via TV Guide settings which requires a 6-digit PIN code (Purchase PIN), simply choose any channels to lock and proceed with instructions given on your TV.

If my TV AV ports are fully filled up with my current devices, how can I watch unifi TV services?

You could purchase an additional AV switch for multiple connections or you may use the HDMI cable instead.

Can I purchase or request for an additional AV cable if my cable is faulty (customer's fault)?

Unfortunately, we do not offer additional AV cables. You may purchase the AV cables in many electrical stores.

How can I access unifi TV channels outside of Malaysia?

For the time being, unifi TV is targeted to Malaysian households only. This means that unfortunately, you cannot access them outside of Malaysia.

What if my unifi TV STB / UPB malfunctions? Can TM send someone to check the unit? Will I need to pay?

Please contact our TM Live chat or Contact Centre for maintenance and after-sales support. If we determine that the STB / UPB malfunctioned due to manufacturing defects, there will be no charge to replace the STB / UPB during the warranty period (as the warranty only covers 'manufactured faults'). Do keep in mind that any unauthorized repair / modifications on the STB will void the warranty.

What if I damage my STB / UPB/ remote control – will you give me a new one? Will I be charged?


If it is due to the manufacturing defect and within the warranty period, TM will replace the STB / UPB. However, after the warranty period,  you can opt for a replacement with an additional charge as well a charge will be imposed for on-site visits by our personnel. 

There is no warranty period for the remote control. You can purchase a replacement remote control from selected TMPoints.

What are the warranty periods of the unifi TV STB / UPB and remote control?

•  unifi TV STB / UPB:

unifi TV STB / UPB has a twelve (12) month warranty period from the point of installation. For any faulty STB / UPB during the warranty period, TM will provide a replacement.

•  Remote control: 

There is no warranty for the remote control for both STB and UPB.

Can I use any type of remote control (e.g. universal remote control) like the ones sold in shops if my current remote control is broken/damaged?

We do not advise you to do so to avoid any service interruptions. To ensure the quality of service is maintained, we suggest you purchase an original remote control from a TMpoint.

What type of content is offered via Video On Demand (VOD) services?

Content offered via VOD services includes movie titles from the Hollywood, Malaysia and Asian regions. This service also offers on-demand content such as dramas, documentaries and popular TV shows so you can catch up on various programs broadcasted throughout our premium channels.

How do I access the Video On Demand services?

Go to Menu option using your remote control and simply choose On Demand to automatically access the Video On Demand services.

How many movies and series are available for selection?

The number of movies and series are not fixed as we maintain a frequent and regular refresh rate. TM will continue to add to the number of titles to keep providing you with more choice and selection.

Is the Video On Demand service in unifi TV similar to other content service provider?

The Video On Demand service in unifi TV is different because it allows you to select which movies and series you want to watch. Once selected, you can choose to watch the movie any time you want without having to follow the schedule. You can also choose to watch it as many times as you like. While watching, you can even use functions like pause, rewind and fast forward, as well as bookmark!

Will the content in the VOD be the same every month?

No, new content will be added to the selection list every month. This is called Content Refreshed.

How much is the Content Refreshed?

The refresh rate for content varies from time to time. The regular Content Refreshed will allow more time to enjoy the different content that is offered. However, for the latest information, please refer to our to: https://unifi.com.my/tv/shows > On Demand

How often is the content refreshed?

The content is refreshed on a monthly basis.

How long will a video title be available for in VOD for me to enjoy?

A title will be made available via the GUI from 1 to 6 months for you to enjoy. Note that all viewing periods are valid in accordance to the content validity period.

Where can I find the detailed information and synopsis of the video title?

Details of each title can be found on the Info page of the particular video in the GUI. Details include price, synopsis, program classification, genre, duration, episode number & title, director(s) and the cast.

How many bookmarks can I set altogether?

You can set up to 40 bookmarks at any particular time for different videos.

Can I search for the titles available in VOD content?

Yes, you can. Use the Search function in the VOD menu. You can search using several categories; namely titles, cast and genres.

Where can I subscribe to unifi TV services?

I am a non-unifi customer, can I still subscribe to unifi TV?

You may download, register and enjoy unifi TV via unifi PlayTV app. For first-time subscriber, you get to enjoy 30-day free viewing of all premium channels.

Can I have more than one TV having unifi TV service? A multi room solution?

Yes, just add on additional unifi Plus Box (UPB) to your subscription and enjoy unifi TV at your convenience.

If I move to a new home, can I relocate my unifi TV?

Yes, kindly contact us at TM Live chat or TM Contact Center for relocation of your unifi service.

Can I temporarily suspend my unifi TV service?

Yes, however it must be together with your unifi package. You cannot suspend the unifi TV service alone. Please call our TM unifi Centre for more details.

Can I terminate my unifi TV?

Your unifi TV will automatically be terminated upon termination of your unifi package. You cannot terminate unifi TV alone.

Do I need to pay any penalty fees when I terminate the unifi TV service?

If you are still within your unifi contract period, a termination penalty fee may apply.

What is 'Guide'?

Guide is a program guide, similar to a TV channel guide. It tells you which programs are showing for each channel at any particular time. You can also view the synopsis of the programs to help you choose which program to watch.

What is a Multi Channel Program Guide?

This guide shows you the program of several channels throughout the day in a glance. You can also select the day or channel you want to specifically view. 

How do I set a reminder?

You can set a reminder via TV Guide options, simply follow the instructions given on your TV.

How many reminders can I set?

You can set up to 10 reminders.

Can I set many reminders at the same time?

Yes you can. The reminders will be queued: the 1st reminder will be shown first, followed by the others.

What is Mosaic? How do I access it?

• The Mosaic feature allows you to view all the channels you have subscribed to on one page. It is a useful tool as you can view what programs are showing on all the channels at once.

• To access the System Mosaic feature, just press Main Menu

• From each Mosaic page, you may choose any channel to view by navigating the arrow keys and clicking OK.

Why is there no Mosaic for VOD and Interactive?

This Mosaic feature is to allow you to view the Broadcast TV Channels because the channels are all broadcasted concurrently. So with the Mosaic view, you can look at the channels all at once to select what you want to watch. You can set as many channels as favourites as you like. These channels can be accessed from your TV Guide.

Why are the programs in the channels always repeating?

• Similar to all multi-channel Pay TV services around the world, unifi TV provides you with the convenience of watching all your favourite programs, even if they are playing simultaneously on different channels.

• If you are unable to watch your desired program for some reason, you can catch the missed program at a different time.

What is Picture in Picture (PIP)?

• The PIP feature allows you to view a TV channel on a small screen while you watch another one on the big screen.

• With this function, you can find other programs and, at the same time, not miss the current show you are watching.

• To activate PIP, choose Info button to view PIP

How many times can I use PIP?

You can use PIP as many times as you like while watching a TV show.

Can I use PIP while I watch the VOD and Interactive applications?

What is Audio Selection?

• For certain channels, unifi TV may provide several audio languages for the customer to choose from.

• For example, this feature is available for Dreamworks . You can choose between English, Mandarin and Malay.

Can I search for TV programs?

• Yes, you can search for TV programs via the Search function in the Settings menu.

  • Go to SMS (received when you bought the channel)
  • Click at the given link

Unable to install App

  • Check your Android or iOS version. Please note that the app can only with compatible versions of operating system.
  • The app also does not work with jailbroken iOS and rooted Android devices.

Unable to Login

This may be due to the following reasons :

 

1. Incorrect user ID and password - Make sure that you typed in the correct ID and password.

  •  For unifi TV subscribers - please use the pre-defined ID : xxx@iptv OR xxx@tvos. Your ID is stated on your unifi bill and myunifi app.
  • For non-unifi TV and non-unifi broadband subscribers - your user ID can be your mobile number or Facebook ID.
  • If you have forgotten your password, just reset through your unifi PlayTV app from your mobile device, by following this steps:

 

  1. Launch your unifi PlayTV app
  2. Select “Forgot password”
  3. Key-in your login ID

3. Maximum device login reached - try to logout from other device that is currently running the app.

Payment successful but unable to watch the content.

How do I stop from receiving the notification message?

On your device settings:

  • For Android device: Go to Settings > Application manager > playtv@unifi > tap on notifications > then turn off the notifications.
  • For iOS device: Go to Profile> Settings> turnOFF “Get Push Notifications”.

Streaming Issues

If you’re having problem to stream unifi PlayTV from your iOS device:

Step 1: Check if Private Relay is On or Off

  • On iPhone or iPad, open the Settings
  • Tap your name at the top > choose iCloud
  • View the status label on the right side of the Private Relay. If the label displayed On, it means the Private Relay function is enable. If the label displayed other than On, it means the Private Relay function is disable.

Step 2: Turn off Private Relay feature

  • On iPhone or iPad, open the Settings
  • Tap your name at the top > choose iCloud
  • Tap Private Relay
  • Tap the toggle to turn iCloud Private Relay off
  • When turned off, you will notify again with another popup. Just choose Turn Off Private Relay.

Watch unifi PlayTV app from outside of Malaysia

unifi PlayTV app can only be viewed within Malaysia. This is due to restriction of the content viewing rights as stated by the content providers.

 

Casting with Chromecast

Currently unifi PlayTV app does not support casting using Chromecast or other similar casting sticks.

Multiple Subtitles & audio

How can I watch the streaming apps?

The streaming apps are best viewed on unifi Plus Box.

 

You may also download the respective apps on your mobile phone and/or tablet via the app stores or watch it via your Smart TV.

I am a unifi TV Pack subscriber. How do I activate the streaming apps bundled in the pack?

Step 1: Visit the microsite https://activate.unifi.com.my/ott/unifi.aspx?o=b to activate the bundled streaming app(s).

 

Step 2: Verify/Key-in your unifi ID and verify your contact number. Select the streaming app of your choice.

 

Step 3: You will receive an SMS containing a One-time Password (OTP). Key-in the OTP and select “Confirm”.

 

Step 4: After activation is successful on the microsite, you can enjoy the streaming apps on unifi Plus Box or directly from the streaming app(s).

 

Steps to connect and enjoy the streaming apps are unique to its own. You may refer to the user guides for each streaming app at https://unifi.com.my/tv/tv-apps/

 

Can I switch or change my current streaming app to another of my choice?

Starting 14th March 2022, all vernacular packs (Varnam Plus Pack, Aneka Plus Pack and Ruby Plus Pack) can switch its bundled streaming app to one (1) of the following:

  1. Viu
  2. iQIYI
  3. Simply South
  4. ZEE5
  5. WeTV

 

 Once you have opted to switch your current app with another eligible app (as listed above), you will still have access to the current app until the expiry date. The expiry date of the current app can be seen in the app itself.

 

 The subscription of the new app will start on the day after the  expiry date of the current app.

For Ultimate Pack customers, if you have opted in for the new OTT streaming bundle (Disney+ Hotstar, BBC Player, beIN SPORTS CONNECT & SPOTV NOW), you will not be able to switch any of the OTTs with other OTTs. However, you can subscribe to the other OTTs on ala-carte basis.

 

Why should I subscribe to the streaming apps via unifi instead of subscribing directly to the app?

By subscribing via unifi, you get to enjoy curated bundles and great add-on deals, specially crafted for you as our unifi Home customer. You will also get to enjoy the convenience of paying the subscriptions in one single unifi bill each month.

What if I forget my unifi ID to activate these streaming apps?

You can check your unifi ID (i.e. yourname@unifi) in your monthly bill. You can easily access it via myunifi app or unifi portal at unifi.com.my.

Why am I not receiving the OTP to activate the streaming apps?

Please verify your mobile number again.

 

If it is not the correct mobile number, you can update your latest account contact details by reaching out to us via our digital platforms: Live Chat on https://maya.unifi.com.my or myunifi app.

My mobile number registered is correct. Why am I still not receiving the OTP to activate the streaming apps?

Please check if you may have set up an SMS blocked list on your phone. You would have to remove the number 62100 / 66555 from the blocked list.

 

There might also be a network delay by your mobile network provider. Please wait for a while before you retry.

 

The OTP is valid within five (5) minutes upon generation. If your OTP becomes invalid, you can request for the OTP to be sent again to your verified mobile number.

Sorry, you are unable to change your streaming app password after activation.

Can I watch content from the streaming apps using unifi TV Media Box (white colour)?

Sorry, the streaming apps are available on unifi Plus Box only.

 

There are several options that you can explore:

  • Upgrade to unifi Plus Box at RM20/month
  • Subscribe or upgrade to any of unifi TV Packs, which includes unifi Plus Box
  • You can also watch the streaming apps on the respective mobile apps

I do not have any unifi Home broadband subscription currently. Can I get the streaming app offering?

You would need to subscribe to unifi Home with any of unifi TV Packs to enjoy the added benefits with streaming apps.

Am I able to use the streaming apps when I am connected to TM/unifi network only?

For first-time activation, it is best for you to be connected to unifi Wi-Fi network to enjoy special deals.

 

Once the activation is successful, you are free to use the streaming apps subscribed anytime, anywhere. All you need is a stable internet connection, regardless of the service provider.

I have an existing subscription with the streaming apps, can I subscribe to the same app via unifi?

We would recommend that you terminate your current subscription first, and then subscribe to the streaming app via unifi. This is to avoid you being double charged for the same service.

I want to activate the bundled access to the streaming apps that comes with my unifi TV Pack, at no extra cost. Is there a separate contract terms applied to this?

No, there are no separate contract terms applied to the streaming app activation. The access to the streaming apps will be per the unifi TV Pack terms and conditions that you have subscribed to because the bundled streaming app is included as part of the pack offerings as below:

  1. Ultimate Pack – with Disney+ Hotstar, beIN SPORTS CONNECT, SPOTV NOW and BBC Player
  2. Varnam Plus Pack – with Simply South
  3. Aneka Plus Pack – with Viu
  4. Ruby Plus Pack – with iQIYI

 

You will also be bound by the terms and conditions of the individual streaming apps.

Why do I see an expiry date when I activate the certain streaming app with bundled access?

Do not worry, you are entitled to the streaming app access with your unifi TV Pack subscription. Please disregard the expiry date on the app and continue to have fun binge-watching!

What are the payment options available for the streaming apps?

For the convenience of our customers, we highly encourage payment via unifi billing (direct carrier billing).

 

There are several payment channels to pay your unifi bill:

  1. myunifi app
  2. unifi portal via www.unifi.com.my
  3. Selected preferred online banking portals
  4. Nearest TMpoint or TMpoint Authorised Dealer (TAD)

Why does my unifi Plus Box only display an empty/black screen?

We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Please follow the below steps to clear the cache on your unifi Plus Box:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Select “Apps”
  3. Select “unifi TV”
  4. Click on “Clear cache”

 

If I terminate my unifi Home account, can I continue to enjoy the exclusive deals with the streaming apps?

Unfortunately no, because the streaming apps subscription and exclusive deals are exclusive to your unifi Home account.

Will I get a refund if I terminate my special unifi TV Pack add-on or a la carte streaming app subscription?

Unfortunately, if you cancel the subscription midway of the billing cycle, you will not be refunded for the remaining period. This means, you can still enjoy the service until the end of the billing cycle for that month or quarter*. Your access to the service will be discontinued starting from the next billing cycle and no further charges will be reflected in your bill.

Note: For Disney+ Hotstar a la carte option (RM54.90 for 3 months), this is based on Disney’s current retail price, and will be billed on a 3-month basis.

Streaming Issues

If you’re having problem to stream unifi TV from your Android device:

  1. Please ensure that you are watching on the latest certified Android TV OS device.
  2. Please ensure that you have sufficient download speed. The recommended minimum download speed is 30Mbps. The streaming quality will be based on the bandwidth speed available to ensure good video stream experience.

However, if the problem still persists, try resolving the issue with these steps:

  1. Check your internet connection by improving your Wi-Fi signal:
    • Move your router to a new location to improve the signal strength
    • To check any wireless interference from other devices such as cordless phone or microwave
    • It is also advisable to keep the number of connected devices minimal to ensure that you have sufficient bandwidth for streaming unifi TV via your Android device
  2. Restart your Android device and run unifi TV app
  3. Clear the unifi TV data
    • Go to Settings > Apps > unifi TV
    • Search for Clear Data menu, then press OK

If you have completed the steps as above but still unable to stream unifi TV, contact us via Live Chat and share your error code or issues that you are facing.

 

Watch unifi TV from outside of Malaysia

unifi TV can only be viewed within Malaysia only. This is due to the territorial restriction of the content viewing rights as stated by the content providers.

Unable to Login

Make sure that you provide the correct ID (e.g.: susan@iptv) password. If you forgot your password, you can reset your password from unifi PlayTV using your mobile device by selecting the Forgot Password button on the login page.

However, if you are still having problem on:

  1. Connectivity Error
    • Kindly check your data or Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Reached Maximum Device Login
    • Kindly logout from the other device that is currently running the unifi TV app (maximum is on 2 concurrent devices)
  3. Account not migrated.
    • We seek your patience, as unifi TV customers are currently being migrated in phases and expected to be completed by end of September 2020.

I have selected and activated iQIYI as the streaming app of my choice. Why do I get to enjoy VIP access when my subscription info stated that it is Standard plan?

This is a special treat for you! Because you are subscribing to iQIYI with unifi, you get to enjoy iQIYI VIP access to stream more content at your convenience.

Which login options should I choose when I have activated the exclusive access to iQIYI streaming app?

If you are using the mobile app, please select “Log in via SMS” option to enjoy full access to the iQIYI app.

Why is iQIYI a la carte subscription at RM8.90/month not available anymore?

The option for a la carte subscription at RM8.90/month is currently suspended until further notice.

Why can’t I watch Lionsgate Play app via unifi Plus Box?

You would need to update the Lionsgate Play app to the latest version (2.0.1.2021.09.29) on Google Play Store. Once you have installed it in your unifi Plus Box, please sign in using your User ID (i.e. your mobile number) and don’t forget to include the country code “6” (e.g.: 60123456789).

Why can’t I sign in to the Lionsgate Play app after my activation?

We are so sorry for the inconvenience. Please insert Malaysia’s country code “6” followed by your mobile number (e.g. 60123456789) to log in with the activated credentials.

Why can’t I log in to Viu using the credentials received via confirmation email and SMS?

For first-time activation, you would need to have your device connected to unifi Home Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you can register and log in using your Viu account. You can now enjoy the exclusive access to Viu included in your unifi TV Pack subscription!

What if I want to use a different mobile number, which is not registered to my unifi account for my Disney+ Hotstar access?

You can update your registered mobile number by contacting us at https://maya.unifi.com.my. We will process your request accordingly within 3 business days.

 

You can also update your registered mobile number here https://activate.unifi.com.my/ott/profile.aspx at “Manage My Streaming Apps”. However, you can only change the registered mobile number after 30 days of activation.

I have an existing Disney+ Hotstar account. Do I get to retain my previous viewing history on the app once I activated the access via unifi?

Yes, you will be able to retain the viewing history if your registered mobile number with unifi is the same as your existing Disney+ Hotstar account. This is because you still maintain your login credential.

I am entitled to Disney+ Hotstar with my unifi subscription. Why have I not receive notification to access the app?

Firstly, you would need to go to “Manage My Streaming Apps” here https://activate.unifi.com.my/ott/profile.aspx to check if your bundled streaming app entitlement is activated.

 

If it is not indicated, you can activate your bundled streaming app at https://activate.unifi.com.my/ott/unifi.aspx?o=b with your unifi ID (e.g. yourname@unifi).

Is there any clause that specifies TM’s right to remove any channels from unifi TV packs?

Each unifi TV Pack is governed by unifi TV Packs Subscription T&C.

 

You may refer to Clause 9 (Cancellation, Suspension or Delay) which indicates such term of modifying package.

How do I search for the song or artist that I want?

When you are on the Home page, you can click on “Song” or “Artist”. The search bar will appear on the left, and you can type in the name of the song/artist. The search results will appear on the right.

 

To search, you need to key-in the name or initial without space. For example, to search for Siti Nurhaliza’s songs, you can type “Sitinurhaliza” or “SN”

Why is my Favourite list on the Home page empty?

When you sign-in for the first time, the Favourite list will be empty until you start to curate and save your all-time favourite karaoke tunes.

How do I add and manage my favourite songs in the Favourite list?

To add a song to your Favourite list, you can click on the “Favourite” icon on the song title.

 

To remove song a song from your Favourite list, you can click on the “Delete” icon on the song title. You can add the song to your Favourite list again anytime.

Why are the music videos of selected songs on MySing different from the music videos I have watched on other streaming platforms?

The music videos on MySing the official karaoke versions provided by the recording labels, which can be different from the music videos released for viewing/streaming only.

Why are some music videos in low-definition?

While most of the latest and current karaoke hits are in high-definition, some of the classic and evergreen favourites were recorded many years ago, hence the quality is not as high-definition as we are familiar with now.

Eligible Subscribers of unifi TV Ultimate Pack who are yet to activate any of their current complimentary OTT app (Lionsgate Play + 1 OTT app of their choice) under the Ultimate Pack will receive an EDM and/or SMS as a notification for Eligible Subscribers to have the access to Disney+ Hotstar, commencing from 17 May 2022 onwards or option to pre-register interest. Commencing from 17 May 2022 onwards, Eligible Subscribers shall be able to access or activate their new OTT app bundle consisting of Disney+ Hotstar, beIN SPORTS CONNECT, SPOTV NOW and BBC Player at https://activate.unifi.com.my; or

Which Smart TV brand and model can download and install the unifi TV app?

At the moment, unifi TV app can only be downloaded on Samsung and LG Smart TV. Don’t worry, more brands will be added to the list and we will keep you updated once it is available.

  • Samsung Smart TV (Model Year: 2020 & 2021)
  • LG Smart TV (Model Year: 2021 and latest)

 

How do I know if my Smart TV can download and install the unifi TV app?

For Samsung Smart TV, your TV should run on Tizen OS version 5.5 or 6.0 only.

  • For LG Smart TV, your TV should run on WebOS version 6 and above.
  • However, if you can’t find the unifi TV app in your Smart TV App Store, it means that your TV is not compatible with the app.

 

How to download and install unifi TV app on Smart TV?

For Samsung and LG Smart TV:

  • Step 1: Press Home button on your Smart TV’s remote control and select “Apps”

 

  • Step 2: Go to “Search” icon on the top right screen and search for “unifi TV app”

 

  • Step 3: Press “OK” to install

 

I’m not a unifi subscriber but I have access to unifi PlayTV app using my mobile number/ Facebook account. Can I login to the unifi TV app in Smart TV?

The service is available only for unifi Home subscribers with unifi TV subscription.

I have unifi PlayTV app on my mobile phone. Will I get the same app features on Smart TV?

Yes, you can login and watch all the subscribed content if you are a unifi Home subscriber with unifi TV subscription. However, some of the features may not be available due to the system limitation.

 

 

I have subscribed to a streaming app as an add-on / a la carte. Why am I being billed twice with full amount in my unifi bill, with no proration?

Upon successful subscription, you are billed with the current month and one (1) month advance charges. There is no proration for the streaming app subscription as the service rendered to you will be in full term of 60 days as per what you have been charged and paid for.

Who is eligible to enjoy the special offer of Lionsgate Play 90-day free access?

All new and existing unifi TV Packs subscribers below are eligible to enjoy this special offer from 13th July 2022 until 12th October 2022:

With the active add-on/a la carte subscription of Lionsgate Play app, you are not able to enjoy the campaign’s offering.

 

We would recommend that you terminate the active add-on/a la carte subscription first. You may refer to Q79 on how to terminate.

Once that is completed, you can then activate the campaign’s offering before 12th October 2022 at https://activate.unifi.com.my/lgp

When is the campaign period for this unifi TV Biz Pack Promo?

The unifi TV Biz Pack Promo 2022 will start from 19th July 2022 until 31st December 2022.

How long can I enjoy the additional channels with unifi TV Biz Pack Promo 2022 after successful subscription?

Subscribers will get to enjoy the additional channels in this promo for 12 months starting from the activation date of the new unifi TV Biz Pack subscription.

 

Example: customer A activates the unifi TV account on 30th Nov 2022, he will get to enjoy the unifi TV Biz Pack Promo until 30th Nov 2023.

I am a new unifi TV Biz Pack subscriber. When can I start enjoying the additional channels with unifi TV Biz Pack Promo 2022?

Once your account is activated, it will take between 3 to 4 working days for customers to start enjoying the additional channels and the Biz Pack subscribed.

What will happen to my unifi TV Biz Pack after the 12-month free access ends?

You will no longer be able to watch the additional channels under the unifi TV Biz Pack Promo 2022. However, you will continue to access the channels listed in your subscribed unifi TV Biz Pack as long as your account is still active.

How do I sign up / subscribe to unifi TV Biz Pack Promo 2022?

You may subscribe to the packs via any of the following channels:

  • Call 100 (unifi & Streamyx)
  • Walk-in to your nearest TMpoint
  • Respective Account Executive (AE)
  • TM’s authorised resellers

Can I select my own preferred channels within the unifi TV Biz Pack?

The list of channels in each unifi TV Biz Pack is already pre-selected according to the pack genre.

 

If you need additional channels based on your customers’ demand, you may subscribe on a la carte basis.

Is there a minimum contract period to subscribe to any unifi TV Biz Pack?

The minimum subscription period for any unifi TV Biz Pack is 12 months.

Can I terminate my unifi TV Biz Pack? If yes, how do I terminate?

Yes, you may cancel your unifi TV Biz Pack subscription. However, we do not recommend that as your subscription is subject to a minimum of 12 months subscription period. Termination during the minimum subscription period is not advisable.

 

If the channels within the current TV Pack is not suitable with your business needs, you have the option to swap to another available pack at no additional charges.

 

Termination of the TV pack after the minimum subscription period ends can be done at the following channels:

  • Walk-in to your nearest TMpoint
  • Respective Account Executive (AE)

Is there any penalty for early termination?

Early termination request by the subscriber before the minimum subscription period ends will be subject to penalty.

 

The formula to calculate the penalty is as follows:

 

Monthly Subscription Fee x Number of remaining months

 

The penalty amount will be charged as a lump sum to your final bill.

After I have requested for termination, when will the termination take effect?

The termination will take into effect automatically from the date of the termination request.
